WELCOME TO WILANN LABRADORS
Wilann Labradors is located at our home in Suffield, CT. We share the love and care of our Labradors, but Annmarie is the primary one responsible for training and breeding. My love of Labradors began in my childhood when my family owned a wonderful Labrador mix. As an adult when I wanted to add a dog to our home, my husband said, "It had better never snarl, growl or nip at the kids or anyone else!" I started my search for a Labrador. Our first Labrador was a wonderful yellow boy we called Max. He came from show lines and it was then I began contemplating breeding Labradors. We were also in the process of starting our family and it became clear to me I could not do both professions well, breeder and mother of toddlers, so Max became a beloved pet and thoughts of breeding were put on hold. He lived to a healthy age of 15, maintaining his youthful love of life and our family right up to the end. We all miss him. Toots (Tootsieroll Wilson Brownstone) joined our family two years later. She is a chocolate girl with American and English Labradors in her background. She is very intelligent and very friendly. She loves to train and currently has her Rally Novice title. Our future goals are Rally Advance title, Companion Dog title and possibly some Agility work. Now, with my toddlers grown into young adults, I decided to enter the breeding world. I began by joining a local Labrador Retriever Club, the Labrador Retriever Club of the Pioneer Valley (LRCPV). There I had a wealth of knowledge to tap into all the while making new friends and experiencing new dimensions of the Labrador world. Toots had her first litter in the fall of 2007. She had eight healthy puppies. The puppies remained in our kitchen their entire eight weeks. They were raised in a family home environment while following the guidelines requested by service organizations. These include socialization with people of different sizes, ages and dress; various tactile experiences by introducing unique surfaces to walk and play on; introduction to numerous loud and sudden sounds; the beginning if not completion of crate training along with lots of petting and loving. Before going home all the pups have begun or completed paper training and all are comfortable in crates, most comfortable crated alone as well as together. Each puppy comes with a health guarantee, has had its first veterinarian visit and vaccinations, been wormed and micro chipped. I breed infrequently, once every year or two. My girl has all her health clearances, please check her page for full information. Selected studs also have had full health clearances. My goal is to breed good Labrador conformation and temperament. I strive to produce healthy, sound, friendly and intelligent Labradors. Occasionally I donate to service organizations in memory of my godmother who died from Multiple Sclerosis. Thank you for visiting Wilann Labradors. |
