Candy is my chocolate girl out of Toots and Brody (Liberty's Broad Ridge).
She loves to follow us around and lay at our feet. A smile in her direction
gets a loud thump on the floor as her tail wags with joy. She has the lovely temperament of a Labrador and is thrilled to meet everyone we encounter. She shows innate retriever ability and has been bringing me any dead
bird she finds, be it the seagull at the beach or the pigeon in my yard! I began retriever training in 2011 and Candy is demonstrating innate retriever instincts.
In 2012 we will continue working on hunt training. Candy loves the 'hunt' and we hope to achieve a Working Certificate together.
In October 2009 Candy began her Obedience career by earning her first leg
toward her Rally Novice title with a score of 91 out of 100. She followed up in April 2010 with scores of 99 and 93 earning her Rally Novice Title with a placement of fourth.
In November, at the young age of 11 months, Candy passed the CGC requirements to become a Canine Good Citizen.
June 2010 continued Candy's success in the show ring by earning one leg toward her Rally Advanced title. Candy took a break in early 2011 to tend to her first litter. After
successfully raising a healthy litter of pups, Candy returned to the Obedience ring and completed her Rally Advance title at the Labrador Retriever Nationals in October 2011.
She has also earned two legs toward a Companion Dog Title.
We look forward to working together in 2012 as Candy continues competing in Obedience Trials.
On May 9, 2011 Candy had a litter of 9 healthy, beautiful chocolate pups. She had seven girls and two boys. All pups are in their forever homes and doing very well.
I have been receiving wonderful reports of training accomplishments as well as lovely, gentle temperaments.
